Why Spyware is so Dangerous by Terence Young

Posted by website2internet on November 19, 2006

Spyware is software that gets installed on your computer without your knowledge and sometimes is designed to record what you type on the keyboard and send to others. What makes spyware so dangerous is that it likes to collect personal information to include credit card numbers and passwords and send them elsewhere. The most dangerous spyware is of the type that records your keystrokes and sends the information to the interested parties. Think about it. If you use the Internet to pay bills, do banking, purchase items, or look up personal information then you will inevitably use keystrokes to direct the processes. You will use keystrokes to enter credit cards, passwords, birth dates, social security numbers and many more important data items that uniquely identify you as the owner of that information.

http://digilander.libero.it/ford2offerta/

Now no one would put software on their computer if they knew it would steal their personal information and the makers of spyware know this and came up with a solution. Another characteristic that makes spyware so dangerous is the fact that it usually installs without the knowledge of the user. How does it do this? It usually gets installed as part of an installation of desirable software you are aware of installing. In other words, the spyware piggybacks off of a software product you willingly put on your system. Viruses can install spyware also.

http://digilander.libero.it/aprilia2moto/

There are many other characteristics of spyware that add to its danger. Some spyware opens remote access to a stranger to your computer. A stranger can actually control your computer from some other location and you would never know who. There is an especially dangerous sort of spyware known as a bot. Bots, once installed on your system, can be controlled via the Internet Relay Chat protocol or channel and can do things like start emailing viruses and spam to other users when it collects all email addresses found on your computer. Then the email recipient multiplies the problem when the same bot installs on the target computer and starts emailing spam and viruses as well. If you have virus protection that checks outgoing emails. This can get especially irritating if you have a bot on your system as the virus scanner will catch every outgoing mail with this virus and drag your system down in terms of performance. It is a good thing however if your antivirus software does catch it instead of allowing it to be spread.

http://digilander.libero.it/samsung2web

Another characteristic of spyware that makes it so dangerous is the fact that it can significantly degrade the performance of your computer. All of that activity engaged in by the spyware program utilizes the resources of your computer. Just having a piece of software that is engaged in creating popup ads heavily consumes computer resources. Plus, these spyware programs are not models of high-performance software. These programs are typically written by hackers who have little or no knowledge of sound software design principles and can create software that performs very poorly by consuming too many system resources.

http://digilander.libero.it/acer2006apire

And to sum it up, spyware is an absolute nuisance. It just makes a computing experience dreadful. Get yourself some good tools to protect against it.

Link Popularity The Stepping Stone For Greater Online Presence by Jeffrey Greer

Posted by website2internet on November 19, 2006

What exactly is link popularity? It is not Page Rank. Link popularity is the measure of how popular your page is and how many links are directed to your site; and the quality of the sites that are directed to your site. Page Rank, on the other hand, is almost always confused with link popularity. Page Rank is normally a Google term, ranging from 1-10, and is used to classify the relevancy of a site based on keywords, description, and link popularity. Link popularity uses quality; page ranking uses quantity.

http://digilander.libero.it/processori.internet

Link popularity is a major stepping stone for any online presence. If no one knows about your site, then it does not exist. On the other hand, your site may also be extremely popular due to pop ups and campaigns on sites with a bad reputation; this is when quality comes into play when link popularity is determined.

http://digilander.libero.it/cellulari2

Apart from having the right keywords and good reputation, link popularity can be earned through link exchange. Link exchanges could greatly up your site on search engines, therefore, drive more traffic to your site. Note: that you should have the correct anchor text on your site in order to get page ranked accurately.

http://digilander.libero.it/informatica.web

Another great strategy in gaining link popularity is the overall content of your site. Do you have interesting material? Why should anyone bother linking to your site? Sometimes, sites with great content get linked by viewers on other sites. Some webmasters might stumble upon your site and request to use some of the content of your site with your permission and all links in place; this adds to your link popularity.

http://digilander.libero.it/asus.pc2006

For example, say your website sells and gives information on ‘tomatoes’. When you type in the word ‘tomato’ into a search engine, and your page isn’t in the top ten, your link is not optimized. Check the other sites that happen to be in the top ten lists. Some browsers may allow you to view the page source of such websites. How do you compare? How many links do you have on your site and how many sites are targeted to your site? Do you have the proper Meta tags? This is where you can use your competitors’ site to your own advantage and all these are important factors in gaining link popularity.

http://digilander.libero.it/electronic.2

Also, great content, such as keyword oriented articles and reviews can draw traffic to your site with little to no effort on your part. Good luck on promoting your tomatoes, remember that quality surpasses quantity!

William Keleher : Not Forgotten by Julia Keleher

Posted by website2internet on November 19, 2006

William Aloysius Keleher is a name that will not be forgotten, no matter what. Especially in the region of Albuquerque, New Mexico, the name will always live among the people as a shining star, a person who started from scratch, yet was bold enough to make a difference. William Keleher was a relentless worker who continuously strived to bring about a positive change in the society.

http://digilander.libero.it/concessionaria.auto/

It was the year of 1886 when Mary Ann Gorry Keleher gave birth to their son (William) in Lawrence, Kansas. His father, David Keleher, decided that the family should move to Albuquerque, New Mexico and so they went there in 1889. William Keleher enrolled at Saint Mary’s Parochial School where he studied till the eighth grade. Due to unavoidable circumstances, he, however, had to quit the school and start working in order to support the family financially. He started his new life as a messenger for Western Union Telegraph Company, becoming telegraph operator later on. He also worked for education boards and development companies for a brief period before becoming a newspaper reporter (he also became the city editor for two newspapers). This was the pivotal moment when he was attracted to law. It is believed that events at a local County Court influenced his decision. He once mentioned that he felt as if destiny was guiding him towards the court. With the newfound spirit, he joined the law school at Washington and Lee University in the last quarter of 1913. It did not take the meritorious Keleher more than two years to receive the Bachelor of Laws degree and thereby, graduate successfully from the law school, who was admitted to the New Mexico Bar in the same year (1915). He returned to Albuquerque after a while and honored the post of city attorney. Later on, he joined forces with George Downer, practicing law till 1930. In 1931, he found a new partner – A.H. McLeod. Together, they formed ‘Keleher & McLeod’, a law firm that would relentlessly practice law for the betterment of society for decades. Even after so many years, this firm remains as efficient as before.

http://digilander.libero.it/nissan2006/

William Keleher soared to greater heights with his literary works. He always had an avid interest in writing, especially history-related ones. With quality books like the Maxwell Land Grant, Turmoil in New Mexico, The Fabulous Frontier, Memoirs and Violence in Lincoln Country, he gained international recognition and historians’ acclamation. His first book came out in 1942, and the last in 1969.

http://digilander.libero.it/lancia2auto/

William Keleher played a key role in settling the much talked-about dispute between the government and coal-field miners that took place in New Mexico in 1933. The Gallup American company was troubled with the Mexican coal miners’ strike, which was initiated rightfully after much suppression. The situation was going from bad to worse and an immediate remedy was needed to prevent apocalypse. This was the time, William Keleher and M. Mechem presented the “Mechem-Keleher” report on the Gallup coal strike to the government, who later on decided to settle the strike.

http://digilander.libero.it/ford2offerta/

Keleher served the Museum of New Mexico and the New Mexico State University which was really worthy of praising. He also took the post of director and legal counsel in a few private organizations.

http://digilander.libero.it/aprilia2moto/

Even after death, Keleher is still inextricably related with the betterment of society. More than twenty years ago, the W. A. Keleher Memorial Journalism Scholarship was established at the UNM College of Arts and Sciences. As of June 30, 2001, the total investment value of the scholarship is eight million US dollars, huge by any standards.

http://digilander.libero.it/samsung2web

Keleher died on December 18th, 1972 leaving behind innumerable well-wishers and monumental achievements. His legacy, however, have not gone to the grave with him. Instead, it has given him immortality among the people of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Researchers are unearthing more and more information about Keleher. Thanks to the generous donation by the Keleher family, researchers are finally able to have a better understanding of the society and culture in W.A. Keleher’s times. In addition, unknown or little known information about William Keleher is finally being divulged to the world. This proves that people have not forgotten William Aloysius Keleher and his marvelous deeds.

A Recursive Filtering Workbench in Java by Richard G. Baldwin

Posted by website2internet on November 19, 2006

A Recursive Filtering Workbench

The complete collection of installments presents and explains the code for an interactive Recursive Filtering Workbench that can be used to design, experiment with, and evaluate the behavior of digital recursive filters.

http://digilander.libero.it/processori.internet

By the end of the last installment, you should have learned how to write a Java program to create such a workbench. Hopefully, you will also have gained some understanding of what recursive filters are, how they behave, and how they fit into the larger overall technology of Digital Signal Processing (DSP).

http://digilander.libero.it/cellulari2

Viewing tip

You may find it useful to open another copy of this lesson in a separate browser window. That will make it easier for you to scroll back and forth among the different listings and figures while you are reading about them.

http://digilander.libero.it/informatica.web

Complex poles and zeros

The workbench makes it possible for the user to design a recursive filter by specifying the locations of sixteen poles and sixteen zeros in the complex z-plane and then to evaluate the behavior of the recursive filter for that set of poles and zeros. The user can relocate the poles and zeros and re-evaluate the behavior of the corresponding recursive filter as many times as may be beneficial without a requirement to restart the program.

Technical Analysis: How to use Technical Indicators – part 2 by Mostafa Soleimanzadeh

Posted by website2internet on November 19, 2006

In the previous article I described tree technical indicators: Momentum and Rate of Change (ROC), Moving Average Convergence/Divergence (MACD), and Relative Strength Index (RSI). Don’t worry you can find link to complete article in the bottom of this article. Also, you can subscribe to our free Newsletter for new updates.

http://digilander.libero.it/informazioni.web

In this article I’ll describe two technical indicators: an oscillator that is Stochastic Oscillator and Bollinger Bands indicator.

As I mentioned before, Oscillators are technical indicators that tend to cycle or “oscillate” within a fixed or limited range, and Momentum in general term means strongly movement of prices in a given direction.

http://digilander.libero.it/processori.internet

Stochastic Oscillator

The Stochastic Oscillator is a momentum indicator, it indicates whether the market is moving to new highs or new lows or is just meandering in the middle. This indicator is based on George Lane ’s observations.

http://digilander.libero.it/cellulari2

The Stochastic Oscillator is plotted in two lines Fast %k and Fast %D.

The formula is:

Fast %k = 100 * [( C - L (n) ) / ( H (n) - L (n) )]

Where:
C is the most recent closing price.
L (n) is the low of n previous trading day (or bar).
H (n) is the high price of the same n previous day (or bar).
Usually n is chosen 14.

http://digilander.libero.it/informatica.web

A 3-period (day or bar) moving average is taken from Fast %k and called Fast %D. Fast %D is used as a signal line in the same way that the moving average of the MACD is used as a signal line for the MACD.

http://digilander.libero.it/asus.pc2006

Stochastic Oscillator is plotted in two lines but, usually these lines cross each other many times. Now to smooth the chart, a 3-period moving average is taken from Fast %D and called Slow %D (Also, Fast %D is called Slow %K), so the smoothed chart is plotted with Slow %K and Slow %D.

http://digilander.libero.it/electronic.2

Using of Stochastic Oscillator

1- Oscillators are used as an overbought/oversold indicator. A buy is signaled when the oscillator moves below 20, and then crosses back above 20. A sell is signaled when the oscillator moves above 80, and then crosses below 80.

http://digilander.libero.it/concessionaria.auto/

2- Also, when %K crosses above or below %D, Buy and sell signals can be given. But, may be crossover occurs frequently in short periods and causes bad results. This using isn’t very common.

http://digilander.libero.it/nissan2006/

Bollinger Bands

John Bollinger created Bollinger Bands in the 1960s; Bollinger Bands are used to determine support and resistance levels. This indicator consists of three lines; the middle line is an exponential moving average of price data and the two outside bands are equal to the moving average plus or minus standard deviation.

http://digilander.libero.it/lancia2auto/

Standard Deviation is a statistical measure that indicates volatility of price. The bands will expand when price becomes volatile and they will contract during less volatile periods.

http://digilander.libero.it/ford2offerta/

Using of Bollinger Bands

1- Bollinger Bands are used to determine the boundaries of market movements. If a market moved to the upper band or lower band, then there was a good chance that the market would move back to its average. In the other words, when price closes to upper band, market is overbought and when price closes to lower band, market is oversold.

http://digilander.libero.it/aprilia2moto/

2- Another using of Bollinger bands is that to indicate up-trends and down-trends. If price deflects off the lower band and crosses above moving average then price fluctuate between upper band and moving average, it comes to indicate upper price target. It is visa versa to indicate lower price.

Car insurance in UK is not only a personal compulsion; it is also a legal liability. To avail this car insurance you need to find a perfect car insurance quote from the insurance market. A car insurance quote also needs a thorough search like other important things, at the time of buying. There are large numbers of car insurance companies that provide you with cheap and affordable car insurance quote that will meet your needs.

http://digilander.libero.it/aprilia2moto/

Before dealing with car insurance quotes, you need to have a clear idea of what insurance is. Insurance is an agreement between the insurance company and the insurer, where the insured agrees to pay a certain premium at regular intervals. On the contrary, the insurance company makes arrangements to secure the insured from any misfortunes. Similarly, car insurance is an agreement between the insurance company and the insured, where on the payment of a certain premium at regular intervals, the insurance company agrees to pay for the cost of any loss that may happen to your car.

http://digilander.libero.it/ford2offerta/

There are various factors that effect car insurance quotes and the amount of premiums that one has to pay. It is difficult for a young or teenage driver to get hold of cheap car insurance quotes but on the other hand if the driver is a woman, she can easily purchase a cheap car insurance quote. The risks involved with the driving of a woman is less, because statistics have shown that women tend to drive more carefully as compared to men.

http://digilander.libero.it/lancia2auto/

All these will need a detailed research. You have to compare various car insurance quotes available in the market; then depending on your lifestyle and your driving history, you must carefully choose a car insurance quote from the insurance market of UK. Your financial status should also be a deciding ground for buying car insurance quotes.

http://digilander.libero.it/nissan2006/

The internet has come up as an easy way of shopping around for your car insurance quote. It can save you around 50-55 pounds; apart from that there is always an added online discount. The difference between a winter storm watch and a winter storm warning is that severe winter conditions have begun when a winter storm warning is issued. C. A winter weather advisory is when weather causes severe conditions that are inconvenient and may be hazardous, especially for motorists. D. A frost-freeze warning means that temperatures are expected to fall below zero degrees Fahrenheit and may cause significant damage to plants, crops, or fruit trees.

http://digilander.libero.it/lancia2auto/

D. A frost-freeze warning means that temperatures are expected to fall below zero degrees Fahrenheit and may cause significant damage to plants, crops, or fruit trees. FTO: Well, yeah, but they don’t usually issue warnings about that do they, they only bother when it is nearing 32 degrees Fahrenheit, right?

http://digilander.libero.it/ford2offerta/

14. The National Weather Service defines “heavy snow” as: A. Snowfall that accumulates 6 or more inches in 12 hours or 8 or more inches in 24 hours. B. Wet snow. C. Thundersnow. D. None of these answers is right, The QuizQueen must not know.

http://digilander.libero.it/aprilia2moto/

A. Snowfall that accumulates 6 or more inches in 12 hours or 8 or more inches in 24 hours. FTO: Don’t you just love the term thundersnow? The QuizQueen will send some your way if you guessed “D.”

http://digilander.libero.it/samsung2web

15. Which U.S. city has the highest average snowfall? A. Stampede Pass, Washington B. Valdez, Alaska C. Mt. Washington, New Hampshire D. Watertown, New York

http://digilander.libero.it/acer2006apire

A. Stampede Pass, Washington FTO: 440.3 inches! Yipes, even for someone who grew up in the snow belt that is depressing to think about.

16. Which U.S. city has the coldest record temperature? A. Mt. Washington, New Hampshire B. Glasgow, Montana C. Nome, Alaska D. McGrath, Alaska

http://digilander.libero.it/informazioni.web

D. McGrath, Alaska FTO: -75, can you even imagine? Mt. Washington is the warmest with its record low of only -47 degrees Fahrenheit.

Layout semelhantes ou características comuns? by Ruben Zevallos Jr.

Posted by website2internet on November 19, 2006

http://digilander.libero.it/informatica.web

http://digilander.libero.it/nissan2006/

http://digilander.libero.it/asus.pc2006

http://digilander.libero.it/electronic.2

http://digilander.libero.it/concessionaria.auto/

http://digilander.libero.it/informazioni.web

http://digilander.libero.it/processori.internet

http://digilander.libero.it/informatica.web

http://digilander.libero.it/asus.pc2006

http://digilander.libero.it/electronic.2

http://digilander.libero.it/concessionaria.auto/

http://digilander.libero.it/informazioni.web

http://digilander.libero.it/processori.internet

http://digilander.libero.it/informatica.web

http://digilander.libero.it/asus.pc2006

Camping Safety Tips: Part 2 – Camp Fires, Wild Animals, Dangerous Activities by Mike Foster

Posted by website2internet on November 19, 2006

Camping provides a great temporary escape from the stresses and dangers of suburban and urban life. However, the camping experience is fraught with its own set of dangers. The wise camper must take these into account and prepare in advance how to make safety in the woods a high priority and counter the inherent risks.

http://digilander.libero.it/samsung2web

In part 1 of this two-part series, we looked at safety related to food preparation, preparing clean drinking water, and how to minimize the risk of illness from ticks.

http://digilander.libero.it/acer2006apire

In this second and final part, we will now turn our safety focus to properly handling camp fires, avoidance of wild animals, and giving caution due consideration while walking through any wooded areas.

http://digilander.libero.it/informazioni.web

CAMP FIRES

For many people, the thought of sitting, talking, or singing around a camp fire lies at the heart of the outdoor experience. No fire, no fun. However, a fire handled improperly can lead to inadvertent disaster. So safety is of the essence.

http://digilander.libero.it/processori.internet

When starting, enjoying, and later putting out a fire, use common sense.

For example, if you are camping when the weather has been dry for a lengthy period of time, it would be safer to skip the camp fire altogether. This issue itself may actually influence your decision on selecting a time to camp.

http://digilander.libero.it/cellulari2

Additionally, only build fires in camp ground provided areas, such as fire rings. Otherwise, clear out a small area in your camping site, and place rocks around a circle to set the parameters for your fire. Within the circle, dig a hole several inches deep for the wood you will burn.

http://digilander.libero.it/informatica.web

If you have not brought your own wood on the trip, gather wood that is already dead and lying nearby. Make sure that any leaves close to the fire pit are raked several yards away and that there are no paper products lying on the ground. Throw those in the trash.

http://digilander.libero.it/asus.pc2006

Once the fire is started, let it build slowly with smaller twigs and dead branches, only placing larger pieces of wood on the pile as the flame grows. Make sure small children remain several feet away from the flame, as the heat can become intense while it grows. And they certainly should not be close enough that they could slip or trip and fall in.

http://digilander.libero.it/electronic.2

And finally, never leave a camp fire unattended. When leaving the area (say for a walk) or going to sleep for the night, extinguish the flames. Use a lot of water to douse the flames, saving your clean drinking water when at all possible. Stir the ashes and use more water until the remains are cool enough to the fingers.

http://digilander.libero.it/concessionaria.auto/

WILD ANIMALS

Most people do not encounter wild animals when camping in the woods, certainly not up close and personal. But that does not mean they are not living in the habitat and posing a quiet danger to humans. It can definitely be entertaining to spot them from a distance, not to mention serving up great snapshot opportunities with a raccoon, deer, or even a bear. However, in such a situation, distance between you and the animal is one of your best friends.

http://digilander.libero.it/nissan2006/

Never (ever) attempt to feed an animal you encounter. It is not your pet dog or cat and may attack! That is an instinctive response. Even if you make no gestures that seem threatening, the animal may interpret it that way.

http://digilander.libero.it/lancia2auto/

If a wild animal approaches you, back away slowly and do nothing to invite its approach.

Minimize your risk of an animal encounters in the first place by wrapping all food securely and putting it away when you have finished eating. Then throw away food-related trash in camp provided trash receptacles.

http://digilander.libero.it/ford2offerta/

PERILOUS ACTIVITIES

There is nothing quite like a long, quiet walk in the woods. Remain on paths that have been designed for walks. Use common sense.

http://digilander.libero.it/aprilia2moto/

* Refrain from hanging on tree branches. Old, dying, or thin wood can easily snap off.

* Avoid walking close to or leaning over steep cliffs, whether they are primarily rock or brush. It would be easy to slip or lose your balance. A subsequent fall could be disastrous.

http://digilander.libero.it/samsung2web

* Do not attempt to conquer gravity in the opposite direction either. That is, refrain from climbing steeply angled rocks. You are on a camping trip, not a mountain climbing expedition.

http://digilander.libero.it/acer2006apire

* In the winter, never walk on frozen water. Regardless of surface appearance, there is no method to assess how thin and weight-bearing capable the ice may be.

http://digilander.libero.it/informazioni.web

As you can see, the camping experience is not a danger-free zone. The great outdoors certainly provides compelling motivation to seek quiet time with nature. But this activity cannot be done with reckless abandon. In fact, making safety in the woods a habit actually assists with maximizing the many positives of the camping experience.
